Mayor Ronnel Rivera said one of the OFWs who arrived on May 27 who, together with the others were transported through the Elf truck, turned out to be COVID positive.
She is a 33 year-old lady and a resident of General Santos City who worked as a DH in Kuwait.
She arrived on April 26 in Manila and a swab sample was taken from her on May 12. Got her result on May 26 when she was at the airport already. Arrived in Gensan on May 27.
She is currently at the Dr. Jorge Royeca Hospital.
She is asymptomatic.
Mayor Rivera assured the public that she is well taken care of and the batch of OFWs that arrived with her are under strict quarantine watch.

This story was posted based on the personal account of Mayor Rivera and with his EXPRESSED PERMISSION. He later clarified that his information was based on miscommunication between him and the medical people in the local task force that he is heading. The medical people denied there is a COVID-positive OFW that arrived in the city on May 27.
This breaking story then is legit at the hour it was posted. The denial of medical people does not make the story false.
